Just Red

Hi everyone,
August was a busy month with journeys and family visits, so I´m a bit behind with my blogging and blog visits.  However I´m really pleased to take part once again in The Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade hosted by Ida at My Sister Made Me do it.

I don´t have many pincushions but I made this one last week with Ida´s parade in mind.

It is a free design called May Flowers Pin Cushion and can be found here.  I made the pattern a bit larger because I didn´t have the 18ct fabric called for and used a piece of 28ct from my stash.

My Mr Hexie Hedgehog is used more as a paperweight than a pincushion as he is quite heavy but I like his bright colours.

Next is this little cushion which started out as a crazy patchwork `work of art´ but it fell by the wayside and ended up in the UFO drawer only now to see the light of day.

and my favourite at the moment is my strawberry pincushion.

I´ve seen loads of these on the Internet and had to make one, They are quick and easy and  make   useful gifts

If you would like to see some really lovely work or show your own pincushions, do visit Ida for the details and link up before the 15th September.
 Until next week.

Sheryl

  8. Gosh, Sheryl! What lovely pincushions you have. May Flowers must have taken a while to stitch, and it was well worth it! And I love your mini gingham Mr Hexie Hedgehog too, such pretty colours! I'm glad the crazy patchwork pincushion has found the daylight too .... again, so pretty! And your strawberry is so lifelike!
I'm off to visit some of the other links .... glad you've told us all about the "Parade"!

  9. Your May Flowers pincushion is superb, Sheryl. The stitching is amazing and I love the colours you used. Your Mr Hedgehog pincushion is adorable, love the teeny hexagons. I too, love strawberry pincushions; yours is sweet. It sounds as if you have been enjoying your Summer, how lovely to enjoy the sights here, there and everywhere; and enjoy visits from family. So happy to visit your lovely place again and have a peek at your amazing stitching, Sheryl!

  15. Your pincushions are all so sweet !!:) Thanks for sharing the link to Mayflowers, it's a beautiful design. I don't have a single pincushion or needle book. I made my first pincushion and needle book and gifted those in exchanges. It is easy to crochet up a small pincushion but I still haven't done that.
