Today is check-in day for the Smalls SAL hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus. My sidebar button will take you to her blog if you would like more information about this group.
I decided that it was time to organise my embroidery hoops and so I made a little holder.
A bit tired of always trying to use up my stash which stubbornly refuses to dwindle, I bought a small piece of pretty pink fabric and used some matching perlé thread #12.
On a piece of 28ct linen, I embroidered a simple row of flowers, the stems with green DMC floss using different stitches and then making tiny crochet flowers topped with buttons.
I added a zip and lined the holder with the same pink fabric.
I like it.
Thank you for visiting. See you next week.

ReplyDeleteWow!! So neat and beautiful!!:) You are so skilled in all types of needlework. I cannot sew that perfect rounded finish, and above all, it would be a big challenge to add a zip to it. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative Cheryl, that's so beautiful and wonderful finishing idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely make again, I love buttons and you have used those to great effect.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! What a wonderful make. I hope you won't mind if I make one too, some day, because this has really inspired me! Thank you for showing us.
ReplyDeleteBTW I have just visited your post about Henry and Anne! The cushion is amazing, you are so clever! Such detailed stitching! We had already seen the executioner, now seeing the cushion for the first time even my husband (who is not normally interested in my stitching or blogging) was laughing away at it!

ReplyDeleteThat is totally adorable! I just made a hoop pouch recently, but I went with a semi-circle. I didn't want to make it all round since I'd have to make a larger to accommodate the screw. But I love how yours turned out. You really have an amazing talent!
ReplyDeleteOh so beautiful, Sheryl. Whenever you let your creativity flow, the result is always something gorgeous and unique. So many ideas put into this hoop holder. Perfect finishing!
