Smalls SAL - January

Good morning blogging friends,  Today is the first check in of the year for the Smalls SAL hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus.  If you would like to find out more about this group which you can join at anytime during the year, just click on my sidebar button.

At the beginning of the month I joined the Round in Circles Hardanger SAL hosted by Mabel Figworthy ...another button on my sidebar .... and this is the first little design.

The pattern was stitched on 28ct. evenweave fabric with white perlé #12 and #8 and as this was the very first design, we just did Kloster blocks, eyelets, satin stitch and star stitch.

I wasn´t sure what to make the design into but thinking that Valentine´s Day is soon, a heart ornament might come in handy as a gift.

Thank you to all who commented on my last post with the blurry photos which I will try to improve but I am curious to know how other bloggers post photos to their blogs as I have had quite a few problems with the clarity of photos when downloaded from computer files.  Any advice?
  See you next week.
Sheryl

  19. Lovely work. Maybe it's my eyes but I think your photos are fine. I take most of my photos on my iPad and get them on my blog. I don't take very good photos so really I am no help at all.

  21. I don't see any problem with your photos. I ran out of space in Picassa (the downloading way you use) about 3 years ago so i upload my photos to Photobucket and copy and paste the link.
Love the heart. I did mable's bom a couple of years ago

  25. Love the color. I have the same issue with my pictures. I can never get the lighting right in mine. I'm just too impatient to wait for daylight.

  30. Oh Sheryl, what a wonderful stitched project this is. And your finishing is as delicate as always. A fantastic idea.
I can't help you with the pictures. My husband takes all the pictures and puts them on my computer. Then I drag them over onto my blog when I write a blog post. And when something doesn't work, I just call for my husband, lol. So, no help here, lol.

My, what a pretty titched heart and as always, so neat! I love the colours, which is quite interesting as I am not a lover of yellow...but this shade is really pretty!
Wishing you a beautiful, blessed Thursday!
    Hugs n' love...

  33. I just love this heart finish, Sheryl! You are so creative--I would never have thought of finishing a square shape into a heart, but it worked perfectly. And I love the yellow, too :)

Hope your computer guy helped you out this week (although, to me, your photos look just fine!).

  34. Your heart is lovely, the perfect way to finish the hardanger piece.
I use the macro setting on my camera when I'm taking photos close up to my stitching. That seems to work quite well.
