Not much embroidery done this week, but I did get some photos taken of my Hardanger table mat which I in fact finished a few weeks ago.
After completing satin stitch kloster blocks, a tiny square stitch done in diagonal and a buttonhole edging, I cut the threads in the middle of the design.
This area was worked with wrapped bars and decorative Greek cross stitches and dove´s eyes.
Lots more dove´s eyes worked on the outer edging too
I decided to make a little matching scissor fob
for the tassel I followed Judy´s tutorial, something a bit different, thank you Judy, I like the tiny added detail.
Thank you for stopping by, until next week.
Sheryl
Absolutely beautiful
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Your work is perfect! Love this designer too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Love the colors you used. I've downloaded the pattern for future use. I have a hard time finding nice selection of colors of #8 perle cotton. The few places I know of are not close.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous - well done indeed!
ReplyDeleteWow! These projects are impressive; so delicate and with beautiful colour combinations too. Snipping the threads must have been quite nerve-wracking! :)
ReplyDeleteAll these creations are gorgeous and must be true wonders of patience! They are an artist's works, really! And the colours are so very well-chosen. Congratulations, Sheryl!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! Very well done!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous table mat, Sheryl! And the sweet fob is darling--very nice tassel indeed. I'll have to check out the tutorial--thank you... Hope spring has arrived for you :)

ReplyDeleteHi Sherryl, Your little doily looks great, I like the colors, although I have only ever embroidered Hardanger in one color, I like this variant very well. And the little scissors finder - very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week, Martina

ReplyDeleteI love visiting you...Great artwork with lovely colors!Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I bet cutting that edge out really did take forever! Or at least a really long time, but not long enough that you couldn't make another one to cut out (the fob)! :))) I like hardanger in other colors. Maybe some day I should try a piece! That's a really neat tassel too; thank you for the link.
ReplyDeleteStunning finish, your hardanger work is so very impressive Sheryl
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, simply gorgeous!!! I absolutely love your work. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed with anyone stitching hardanger, it looks so complicated to me. Your stitch is beautiful. Even the tassel is a work of art!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's awesome! I haven't seen a lot of hardanger with a bold colourscheme like this.
