I realised that I hadn´t made any more posts since January about the Round in Circles SAL hosted by Mabel Figworthy, who gives us a hardanger pattern to stitch each month and then we make it into whatever we choose. I made the February pattern into a rosary bead bag.
using pink 28ct evenweave from stash and perlé #8 and #12 in ecru, green and pink.
I added a piece of gathered lace.
Then in March I made the little design into a needlebook as these always come in useful as gifts
.
and used 28ct antique white and white perlé thread #8 and #12 and also Carries creation silk floss called passion fruit. This thread was gifted to me years ago and I really like it.
A few sequins and beads completed the pattern. I definitely need more practise with the woven daisies so don´t look too closely.
Our pattern for April is yet to be released. If you are interested in joining this Hardanger SAL which has super clear instructions, just click on my sidebar link.
See you next week.

ReplyDeleteI like the way you finished these smalls very much. Very inspiring indeed.
I love your Pink with the Green. Those were my Wedding Colors. I think it is so pretty. I am still working on the 1st Month. Learning these new stitches have been a little difficult - Thank you for sharing your beautiful work

Beautiful projects Sheryl! I like that both very much! Christine x
ReplyDeleteWow!! Both your projects are very beautiful!! :) I always admire one thing about you is that you turn your stitching into beautiful finishes promptly. I just stitch and keep on piling up without finishing into something. For many pieces, I have frames ready but I can't get myself to work for 1hr and put those into frames:( It is a wasted stitching effort keeping things in the closet , I should start following your way of turning into something promptly so that I can make my life beautiful using my creations around me:)
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Sheryl! What a joy to visit you, sweet friend :) Your bag is so beautiful! How I love seeing your creations.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
Your work is lovely. I really love the look of hardanger and these are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects Sheryl.
ReplyDeleteHardanger is something I always meant to try but never got around to.
I love the way you have finished your pieces. The little needlebook is so dainty and what a cute idea to add the tiny bobbins to the cord.

ReplyDeleteI am so impressed by your Hardanger stitching. And even more by the way how you finished these small pieces. So beautiful! And fast. I admire everyone who immediately turns these little finishes into something instead of procrastinating.
ReplyDelete... (I hit the button too early) procrastinating like me.
