Good morning blogger friends, Today is the last Wednesday of the month, time for the Smalls SAL which is hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus.
My jar lid cover is based on the Summer Garden pincushion design by Fiberluscious which I have wanted to make for ages but the original pattern is far more complex.
Each little section uses different embroidery stitches, lazy daisy, french knots, straight stitch, back stitch, blanket stitch, fly stitch and bullion knots,
I found a pretty button to put in the center and added seed beads to the edging, although I´m not sure that I like these and may cut them off. As you can see, the cover just sits on top of the metal lid.
I hope to get around to making the actual pincushion one day.
Thank you for passing by, until next week.

Sheryl, what a wonderful piece this is. All these different embroidery stitches look so beautiful on the lid. And that button is just perfect for it.
ReplyDeleteSheryl this is such a beauty. Lovely colors and stitches.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Such lovely detail and colors. Good job on getting that perfect fit!
ReplyDeleteI think you should leave the beads around the edge.. It is the finishing touch. Love this!
ReplyDeleteOh that Jill...I followed as she stitched that pincushion then she left us high and dry. Wish she would post another project! I like the idea that the pitched cover is not attached to the lid..I don't know why that appeals to me. You found such a cute jar too.
