Smalls SAL & Tusal check-in May

This month the Smalls SAL group and Tusal check-in have coincided.  My Smalls stitching for this month is a little scissor holder which I adapted from Michael Powell´s pattern of the Cottage Garden.

I love all the details in Michael´s designs and with this pattern I had to change the garden path a bit due to the shape of the scissor holder. This is the original pattern.

I stitched the roof of the house on the back section so that the complete house is seen when the holder is open or closed.  That sounds a bit odd, but you can see what I mean by the photos
.

I embroidered some flowers.

If you would like to join this stitching group and stitch a little something each month, just click on the sidebar image which will take you to Stitching Lotus where all the information is.

TUSAL  Check-in

Here is my Tusal jar this month, If you would like to know more about these ORT´s and would like to show a jar every new moon, all information is at Daffycat - click on sidebar button.

The red threads on top are soon going to dominate the jar as I found the Randje per Week blog where everyone is stitching a very loooog sampler, nearly two metres long and mainly in red.  However I shall make the sampler into a book or something different.

Every week two or three patterns are published and as this group started in January, I´m light years behind. I will get some photos taken of my progress for my next post.
 Thank you for visiting.

Sheryl

  19. Oh Sheryl... I love your scissor holder!!! And I especially love how you adapted the original pattern to make it work for the project you wanted to make with it. It must have taken a lot of figuring in order to make the flap with the roof so that it lined up so perfectly with the roof on the front of the scissor holder. Years and years from now, someone is going to look at that and marvel! Well we're marveling now, but I'm sure you know what I mean. :)

Thanks so much for linking up to my Stitchery Link Party again this week!
