Smalls SAL - April

Hi everyone,
Today is check-in day for the Smalls SAL hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus.  My sidebar button will take you to her blog if you would like more information about this group.

I decided that it was time to organise my embroidery hoops and so I made a little holder.

A bit tired of always trying to use up my stash which stubbornly refuses to dwindle, I bought a small piece of pretty pink fabric and used some matching perlé thread #12.

On a piece of 28ct linen, I embroidered a simple row of flowers, the stems with green DMC floss using different stitches and then making tiny crochet flowers topped with buttons.

I added a zip and lined the holder with the same pink fabric.

I like it.

Thank you for visiting. See you next week.

Drawn Thread

Hello friends and visitors,

Today I thought I would show some of the work I have been doing on the drawn thread embroidery SAL organised by Judy.

The design is composed of eighteen small embroidered squares which frame a centre pattern.

I used a piece of cream coloured 28ct linen and white perle #12 thread.

These patterns are shown here in no particular order and the photos taken at various stages of my progress so the lighting varies a bit.

Some squares were easier and therefore quicker to stitch than others but all are very clearly explained by Judy.

The centre flower pattern has just been released, so that is my next step.  Thank you for taking the time to pass by.  Until next week.

Small Things

Hello blogger friends,  Firstly thank you to all who kindly left comments on my Easter hop post of last week and to the new followers who have joined me.
I realised that I hadn´t made any more posts since January about the Round in Circles SAL hosted by Mabel Figworthy, who gives us a hardanger pattern to stitch each month and then we make it into whatever we choose.  I made the February pattern into a rosary bead bag.

using pink 28ct evenweave from stash and perlé #8 and #12 in ecru, green and pink.

I added a piece of gathered lace.

Then in March I made the little design into a needlebook as these always come in useful as gifts
.

and used 28ct antique white and white perlé thread #8 and #12 and also Carries creation silk floss called passion fruit.  This thread was gifted to me years ago and I really like it.

A few sequins and beads completed the pattern.  I definitely need more practise with the woven daisies so don´t look too closely.

Our pattern for April is yet to be released.  If you are interested in joining this Hardanger SAL which has super clear instructions, just click on my sidebar link.

See you next week.
