Change of Needles

Just had to get those knitting and crochet needles out this week and start on something different.

I fancied doing an easy crocheted blanket to use up some of the odd balls of wool I have hidden away and I found the ideal free pattern at cherryheart.co.uk called Spice of Life with really clear instructions.

Of course I ended up buying more wool and goodness knows what the muddled end result will be like, as I grabbed everything bright and happy that was in sight to contrast with the weeks of sad dark rainy  days which threaten to engulf me.

and I also ordered a couple of lovely crochet books by Edie Eckman but best not to look at those too closely just yet or I´ll be distracted and want to start on something else.

I had a request from my granddaughter to make her a knitted squares blanket like one I made years ago and here are the colours she wants.

Only a few squares knitted as she changed the colour scheme when I had dozens made but they will all come in useful for something.

Thank you for visiting.
Sheryl

I have that borders book and I have checked out the motifs book from the library a number of times. Lots of of fun stuff in both.

  8. Those rainbow filled colours will brighten the rainiest mood. It's funny isn't it how we always buy more wool to use the leftover wool we have. I too, do this all the time. Your blanket is going to be lovely. I love the hint of Freesias in your photo.....Spring will be there soon. Love those books, Sheryl!

  10. Oh I love these cheerful colors. I switch needles all the time. Crochet, embroidery and sewing machine. My favorite is which ever one I am using at the time!!

I am crocheting a Temperature Afghan based on a row a day using a chart to determine what color to use based on our temperature at 3PM each day. I thought it would be a good way to use my stash, but of course I didn't have all the color I wanted...the way of the stitching world, lol.
